I wanted to share an except about what I saw professionally.

"...The people of Stockholm work to live. There is no rat race, no one rushes about. Dad and Mom walk their children to school and then go to work. The business executive turns off his/her blackberry when he/she leaves the office. Balance is encouraged. The workplace and workspace is beautiful. Employees are treated to Friday coffee hours, bowls of fresh fruit, ergonomic workstations, beautiful offices, time to socialize, and when it is time to go home no one gets a prize (or promotion) for being the last person standing."
It was a complete contradiction to the working world that I saw, and had just left, in North America. I saw a highly productive workforce in Stockholm that were encouraged professionally to live their life driven by their priorities. I saw people who had balance in their lives, who had time for family, work, friends, and themselves. I saw fit, happy people around me.
I began to wonder, what is the formula for productivity? I am curious, what are the conditions that make you your most productive self?
